Vision & Goals
I don't want to be a career politician. I ran for office because I know I can help, and because I have clear goals in mind for the province. My plan is to seek the Ontario Liberal nomination again in the next election, because I don't expect the current government will change course.
Should I be lucky enough to serve as your Member of Provincial Parliament, my primary goal will be to make Ontario a place where everyone has a good life, and where with hard work and a little luck, you can build a great life for yourself and your family.
If I am elected to represent Carleton, I'd focus on two things:
- To work with the Ontario Liberal Party on our platform promises to fix healthcare, education, and affordability, and make Ontario a leader in climate resilience.
- To personally champion progress on the policy pillars below. These reflect my priorities and my communities' concerns, not official Ontario Liberal Party platform commitments.

My policy pillars
- 01
Evidence-based decision making
Transparent, evidence-based governance embedded in how Ontario makes decisions. Cabinet and the public should know what the goals of legislation are, and whether strategies are working.
- 02
Caretaker of rural Ontario
Restore the province as the primary caretaker of rural and northern communities that feed the province and fuel our industry. Small towns need our support.
- 03
Province-wide incremental zoning
A home that's allowed in Ottawa should be permitted in Toronto, Timmins, and Tobermory. Neighbourhoods should grow gradually, always allowing density without weighing on the infrastructure.
- 04
Digitize our medical system
Modern, connected healthcare records and services that work for patients and providers. No wasting time repeating your medical history at every new appointment.
- 05
Reform government software procurement
In-house development and short-term private contracts that reward good IT security, data stewardship, and user-friendliness.
- 06
Become climate resilient
Microgrids to leverage renewables, improve reliability, and shorten outage times. A tornado or a derecho shouldn't leave you in the dark for weeks.
- 07
Support remote work
Allow provincial and municipal policy and administrative employees to work remotely, at the employee's discretion. Develop a legislative framework and build collaborative coworking spaces to empower private sector remote workers.
- 08
Municipal revenue tools
Municipalities need more tools to raise revenue and fund projects and services. Councillors and communities must be empowered to make the local change they want and need.
- 09
Electoral reform
Fairer representation so every vote counts and every community has a voice. This must be decided by a non-partisan citizens' assembly, but for what it's worth, I quite like Regional Proportional Representation.
- 10
Invest in ourselves
Expand public investment in Ontario's major industries, including via the Public Service Pension Plan. Today, less than 10% of IMCO's equity investments are made in Canada.
- 11
Align incentives
The most profitable paths for business should be the ones that lift us all up. The essential role of government in a healthy economy is guaranteeing this.
